Onions

• Markon First Crop (MFC) Red and Yellow Onions are readily available in the Northwest
• White onions continue to be in a demand-exceeds-supply situation
• Fresh-run Mexican red and yellow onions are beginning to cross into Texas; suppliers will assess quality before sending to market
• Texas-grown fresh-run onions are expected to hit the market in mid-March
• Packer label red, white, and yellow onions will remain available in Colorado through February  

Strawberries

• Prices remain elevated
• Heavy rainfall is diminishing California supplies
• Florida stocks are increasing; favorable weather will promote plant growth and maturity
• Mexican fruit (into South Texas and Yuma, Arizona) is available; however, increased demand is keeping markets high

White Russet Potatoes

• White Russet potatoes will become available the week of March 4, 2019
• Supplies are expected to remain on the market through July 31, 2019
• The late start is due to a very limited 2017 seed crop, resulting in fewer total White Russet acres planted for the 2018/2019 season
