Lettuce and Leafy Greens
- The green leaf, iceberg, and romaine lettuce markets will ease this week
- Weather in the Arizona/California desert growing region is expected to remain fairly consistent, with highs in the low to mid-70s and lows in the mid- to high 40s
- Quality has improved: harvesting crews are trimming leaves where mildew is a concern
Tomatoes
- Prices continue to climb; all varieties are extremely limited
- The primary growing regions in Mexico (Baja, Chihuahua, Sinaloa, and Sonora) have been impacted by heavy rainfall and flooding
- Overall Mexican volume is well-below normal levels
- Florida yields are down, resulting in fewer domestic stocks on the market
- Expect extremely limited supplies and high markets through December
Idaho Potatoes
- Markon recommends building inventory during the week of December 15 to curtail possible loading challenges in the weeks of December 23 and 30
