Avocados
- California fruit remains available, but stocks are extremely limited
- Mexico’s fall crop, Aventajada, is expected to begin in early to mid-September
- Current Flora Loca supplies continue to be on the greener side when ripe
- PSI testing is still the most reliable indicator of ripeness
- The market is easing due to falling demand
Limes
- Yields remain down in Mexico due to lack of rain in the primary growing regions of Veracruz and Tabasco
- Crossings into the U.S. are lower this week than last week
- Demand exceeds supply for 110- through 200-count sizes; the crop is dominated by 230- through 250-count fruit
- Limes are exhibiting more yellowing than normal with occasional breakdown and decay issues; order for quick turns
- Prices are expected to remain high with extremely limited supplies through late September or until Mexico gets more rain
Onions
- Markon First Crop (MFC) Onions from New Mexico will be shipped through this week
- Utah-grown MFC Onions will hit the market next week
- Packer label supplies are now available in Colorado and Kansas
Valencia Oranges
- MFC and Markon Essentials Valencia Oranges are available
- Early Texas Navels are expected to be available in mid-September
- Mexican Hamlin oranges will be on the market in late October
- California Navels are forecast to hit the market in late October/early November
