UPDATE SUMMARY: WEEK OF APRIL 2, 2018

Brussels Sprouts
- Ready-Set-Serve (RSS) Brussels Sprouts and RSS Brussels Sprout Halves are limited, but orders continue to be filled
- Due to ideal growing conditions, adequate supplies are currently being harvested out of the Santa Maria and Oxnard, California growing regions
- Volume is expected to remain steady for the month of April, but become extremely limited in late May/early June once regional temperatures rise
- Expect an elevated market to develop by late April/early May
Strawberries
Oxnard
- Markon First Crop (MFC) Strawberries are sporadic; Markon Best Available and packer label are being substituted
- Supplies have increased due to warmer weather
- Markets are steady at elevated levels
- Rain is forecast toward the end of the week; expect limited supplies by early next week
Santa Maria
- MFC Strawberries are sporadic; MBA and packer label are being substituted
- Supplies are increasing due to favorable weather, but will tighten next week due to rain Friday through Saturday
- Prices are steady
Watsonville
- Harvesting has begun in a very limited way
- Rain has also impacted production in this growing region, pushing the season start date back a couple weeks
- Stocks are expected to ramp up by mid-April
Florida and Mexico (into South Texas)
- The seasons in Florida and Mexico have ended for most suppliers
- Packer label stocks are limited
- Production will continue to decline over the next several weeks
