Domestic Melons

• Markon First Crop (MFC) Cantaloupe Melons will be available beginning Monday, May 7
• MFC Honeydew Melons will be available starting Monday, May 14
• Quality will be very good with sugar levels averaging 12 to 14 Brix; flavor will be sweet
• Expect stable prices as domestic supplies ramp up through May

Limes

• MFC and Markon Essentials (ESS) Limes are available
• Prices are falling; shipments from Mexico into the U.S. are increasing
• Supplies remain limited on large sizes (110- and 150-count)
• Overall quality is good

Mother’s Day Strawberries

• Markon will be offering MFC Strawberries, as well as packer label and long-stem strawberries for Mother’s Day
• MFC Strawberries will be available in 2/4- and 8/1-pound packs for loading in Oxnard, Santa Maria, and Salinas/Watsonville
• Mother Nature permitting, ample supplies and excellent quality are expected

Oranges

• MFC and ESS Navel Oranges are sporadic; packer label is being substituted as needed
• Supplies are dominated by large sizes (88- and 72-count fruit); smaller sizes (113-count and smaller oranges) are extremely limited
• Prices are expected to rise through May
