Broccoli and Cauliflower

  • The Salinas and Santa Maria seasons are ramping up
  • Mexican broccoli volume (into South Texas) is high
  • Improved California weather is aiding growth
  • Expect markets to decline over the next week, then remain low through April

Celery

  • Demand is weak in the fresh-market and processed celery categories
  • Product planted for normal spring orders is not being consumed at typical rates
  • The passing of wet weather, along with warmer and longer days, will increase maturity and supply levels  

Lettuce, Romaine, and Green Leaf

  • Spring harvesting continues to ramp up in Salinas and Santa Maria
  • Stocks remain available in the Huron, California growing region
  • Pending any unexpected events, volume will remain high and prices will stay low through April
