UPDATE: STRAWBERRIES
February 02, 2021
Strawberry supplies continue to tighten; Valentine’s Day demand remains strong. The heavy rains and high winds California’s growing regions experienced last week have taken a toll on supplies and quality. Stemmed strawberry volume remains extremely low in all areas.

- Quality issues include wind scarring and bruising
- Supplies are extremely limited; Mexican fruit is being transferred to help fill shortages
Mexico
- Fields have received frost this morning, but will warm up to finish out the week
- Lower temperatures are expected to return by the middle of next week, keeping size small and supplies tight
- Fruit is loading in South Texas, as well as Oxnard and Los Angeles, California
Florida
- Low temperatures have returned; strong winds are forecast this week, with gusts reaching 30 MPH
- The forecast calls for more cold weather and thunderstorms later this week, which will further limit stocks
