UPDATE: Strawberries

Markon First Crop (MFC) and Markon Best Available (MBA) Strawberries are sporadic; packer label is being substituted when necessary. Cold weather in the Oxnard and Santa Maria, California growing regions has slowed production. Stocks from Mexico (into South Texas) are winding down; Florida supplies are plentiful.
California (Oxnard and Santa Maria)
- MFC Strawberries are sporadic; packer label is being substituted when necessary
- Oxnard is the primary growing region; new crop Santa Maria supplies are limited
- Quality is very good: texture is firm
- Low temperatures have slowed production
- The market is steady
Mexico (into South Texas)
- MFC Strawberries are sporadic; packer label is being substituted when necessary
- Quality is average: light bruising is an occasional problem
- Limited quantities are being shipped into South Texas
- Prices are stable
Florida
- MBA Strawberries are available; packer label is being substituted when necessary
- Quality is very good
- Stocks are plentiful and expected to remain so through March
- The market is level
