Rainfall hit the Oxnard and Santa Maria, California growing regions early this morning and will continue through tomorrow, January 9; forecasts call for up to an inch of rain.

• Markon First Crop Strawberries are limited; Markon Best Available and packer label are being substituted as needed
• Growers will not be able to harvest in the muddy/wet field conditions

• Many California suppliers packed ahead in anticipation of the rain
• Quality and shelf-life will be heavily impacted
• Markon recommends loading out of South Texas for better coverage and quality
• Florida supplies remain limited due to abnormally low temperatures
