Florida’s primary growing region has experienced warmer-than-normal night time temperatures this past week that are decreasing overall quality and shelf-life in some lots. Soft texture and higher percentages of bleeding and bruising are being reported at shipping points. Markon recommends loading Markon Best Available Strawberries from Mexico (into South Texas) for best quality and shelf-life at this time. Markets in Florida are beginning to push up; prices are now higher compared to Mexico.
