The spring transition from the desert growing regions of Arizona and California to Huron and Salinas, California has begun. Limited harvesting of green leaf, iceberg, and romaine has started in Huron. Broccoli and cauliflower production is already underway in Salinas, California.

Below are approximate transition dates based on current supplies and maturity levels:

Week of March 9

• Packer label green leaf, iceberg, and romaine production will begin in Huron
• Limited quantities of Markon First Crop (MFC) Premium Green Leaf and Romaine will be harvested in Huron; transfers to Yuma are available
• MFC Premium Green Leaf, Iceberg, and Romaine will be harvested in Yuma, Arizona

Week of March 16

• MFC Premium Green Leaf, Iceberg, and Romaine will be harvested in Huron; transfers to Yuma will be available
• MFC Green Leaf, Iceberg, and Romaine will continue to be harvested in Yuma
• MFC Celery will continue to be harvested in Oxnard; transfers to Yuma and Salinas will be available
• MFC Broccoli will be harvested in Salinas; transfers to Yuma will be available

Week of March 30

• Very limited MFC Premium Green Leaf, Iceberg, and Romaine will be harvested and available in Yuma, Arizona
• MFC Premium Green Leaf, Iceberg, and Romaine will be harvested in Huron; transfers to Yuma and Salinas will be available
• Limited harvesting of packer label green leaf, iceberg, and romaine will begin in Salinas
• Ready-Set-Serve (RSS) Washed & Trimmed items and some RSS Spinach and Spring Mix will be processed in Salinas; transfers to Yuma will be available

Week of April 6

• All MFC Premium Green Leaf, Iceberg, and Romaine will be harvested in Salinas; transfers to Yuma will be available 
• Packer label green leaf, iceberg, and romaine will also be harvested in Salinas

Week of April 13

• RSS salad items will be processed in Salinas
• All MFC and RSS items will be available to load in Salinas
• Packer label green leaf, iceberg, and romaine will also be harvested in Salinas
