UPDATE: Spring 2017 Harvesting Transition

The spring harvesting transition from Yuma, Arizona to Huron and Salinas, California is underway. Markon anticipates desert region supplies to ship through late March/early April. The Salinas Valley season should begin in a limited capacity the week of April 3.
Below are approximate transition dates (subject to change):
Week of March 20 and 27
- Limited harvesting of Markon First Crop (MFC) Premium Iceberg will start in Huron
- Transfers from Huron to the desert will be available (transfer fees apply)
- MFC Premium Green Leaf, Iceberg, and Romaine will continue to be harvested in the desert
Week of April 3
- Some processors of Ready-Set-Serve (RSS) Salads, RSS Washed & Trimmed items, and cello-wrapped products are scheduled to begin processing and loading in Salinas
- MFC Premium Iceberg Lettuce harvesting will increase in Huron; limited shipments will begin in Salinas
- Limited quantities of MFC Premium Iceberg Lettuce will remain available in the desert
- Transfers from Huron/the desert region to Salinas will remain available (transfer fees apply)
- MFC Premium Green Leaf and Romaine will be harvested in Salinas and the desert area
Week of April 10
- RSS Salads, RSS Washed & Trimmed items, and cello-wrapped products are scheduled to begin processing and loading in Salinas
- Increased supplies of MFC Premium Iceberg Lettuce will be harvested in Huron; more shipments will begin in Salinas
- Transfers from Huron to Salinas will remain available (transfer fees apply)
- MFC Premium Green Leaf and Romaine will be harvested in Salinas
- Desert commodity shipments will come to an end
Week of April 17
- All processors of RSS Salads, RSS Washed & Trimmed items, and cello-wrapped products will process and load in Salinas
- All Markon commodity and processed items will be harvested and loaded out of the Salinas Valley
