UPDATE: SEVERE WEATHER AFFECTING BORDER CROSSINGS

January 26, 2021

Severe weather in Southern Arizona has caused temporary border closures into Nogales, Arizona. Mexican border operations were temporarily suspended this morning due to safety concerns, but have resumed as of 11:30 a.m. this morning. Mexican Customs has asked the trade industry to prioritize the loads which must cross today, as traffic will be slowed to a crawl. If weather conditions worsen, customs will close services again.

The winter storm warning will remain in effect until 5 p.m. MST; expect traffic delays and road closures along with slippery road conditions, snow packed roadways, and gusty winds throughout the Southern Arizona region.

Markon will continue to monitor the situation as more information becomes available.
