UPDATE: RSS Cilantro Trigger Levels

September 02, 2016

The cilantro market has reached first-level triggers for all RSS Cilantro items. Effective Monday, September 5, prices for the below items will increase.

  • High temperatures are reducing supplies in the Baja, Mexico growing region; seeders are creating lower yields and higher prices
  • California is the main source for bunched cilantro; raw product for loose packs is limited in Mexico’s Baja Peninsula
  • Expect tight stocks and elevated prices over the next three weeks
  • Many Canadian and East Coast and Canada seasons are ending, contributing to the spike
