UPDATE: Rain Reducing California Strawberry Supplies

Unseasonable rain in the Santa Maria and Watsonville, California growing regions have reduced overall strawberry volume. Expect tighter supplies, higher markets, and rain-related quality issues over the next two weeks.
- Santa Maria growers are reporting up to sixty percent damage to plants
- Salinas/Watsonville suppliers are culling damaged fruit and sending what is available to juice processors
- Bleeding, bruising, and water-damaged berries may be present in finished packs
