UPDATE: Rain Continues to Impact California Strawberry Production

Continuous rain events are impacting the major California strawberry growing regions. Expect prices to rise; supplies will remain limited over the next two weeks.
- The Oxnard and Santa Maria, California growing regions received over an inch of rain this past weekend
- Another series of rain events is expected to hit tomorrow, Tuesday, March 5 and continue through Thursday, March 7, bringing up to three more inches of rain
- Most growers will be forced to cancel harvests due to muddy field conditions and damaged fruit
- The Florida season is past peak production; supplies will continue to decline over the next several weeks
- Limited quantities of Mexican berries are being shipped into South Texas; most suppliers have ended production for the season
