UPDATE: ONIONS

Markon First Crop (MFC) Red and Yellow Onions remain readily available in the Northwest and South Texas. A limited supply of California-grown onions will become available next week. Expect markets to ease over the next several weeks as multiple regions will be shipping.
Idaho, Oregon, and Washington
- MFC Red and Yellow Onions from Idaho, Oregon, and Washington will ship through early May
- White onions are nearly depleted; stocks will be extremely sporadic as the season concludes

Expect diminishing quality in storage shipments as the season begins to wrap up
- Onions will have golden, cured skins, but may be softer than early and mid-season stocks
- Problems may include occasional internal decay, mold, and multiple centers/hearts (photos attached)
Texas
- Supplies are expected to be available through early May
- Onions have feathery skins and light color/exterior skins compared to Northwest storage onions (photos attached)
California
- Like Texas-grown onions, California fresh-run onions will have feathery skins and light color/exterior
- MFC Onions will start shipping the week of April 26
New Mexico
- MFC Red and Yellow Onions are forecast to hit the market in early June
