Markon First Crop (MFC) Onions are readily available in the Northwest. Fresh-run packer label Mexican red, yellow, and white onions are available in South Texas.

• Northwest MFC Onion quality remains excellent with solid, globe-like shape, set skins, and firm texture; supplies will remain on the market through May
• Mexican onions will have feathery skins and light color/exterior compared to Northwest storage onions
• Texas-grown MFC Onions will enter the market in early March
• The California season is forecast to start by late April (starting in the Imperial Valley desert region)
• Production should start in New Mexico in early June
