Markon First Crop (MFC) Onions are readily available.

• Storage crop onions from the Northwest supplies are dwindling
• The California onion season has started; fresh-run onions have feathery skins and light color when compared to Northwest storage onions
• Texas-grown, fresh-run MFC Onions are available
• New Mexican onions will enter the market the week of May 11
• Initial new crop onion prices are higher than those for storage crop, but they’re expected to be short-lived as supply exceeds demand
