Markon First Crop (MFC) Onions are available in Idaho, Oregon, Utah, and Washington. The California and New Mexico seasons have concluded.

• The new crop is dominated by medium and jumbo sizes; colossal and super colossal onions are limited
• Smaller sizes may persist throughout the Northwest season
  • In late January, the Northwest experienced record snowfall, leaving growing areas saturated into April; this delayed planting that typically begins in March
  • With the California and New Mexico seasons ending, onion demand has shifted to the Northwest, forcing growers to harvest and pack sooner than normal and preventing supplies from reaching full size potential
• Onions grown in the Northwest are rounder and have more of a globe-like shape than fresh-run stocks shipped during the spring/summer months
