Scattered thunderstorms are forecast in the New Mexico growing region now through Sunday, July 15. Storms have produced up to two inches of rainfall, limiting harvesting crew’s access to fields. Expect tight supplies, active markets, and loading delays through Wednesday, July 18.

  • Growers must allow onions to dry prior to packing in order to prevent quality issues such as mildew and mold
  • Delays in loading are expected due to increased drying time
• Supplies are limited in New Mexico and markets are active; ample California stocks are available to meet increased demands
