Abundant supplies of Markon First Crop (MFC) Onions are available from Colorado, Idaho, Oregon, Utah, and Washington. All stocks are being shipped out of storage. Markon anticipates steady prices for red, white, and yellow onions through the holiday seasons.     

Colorado

• MFC Red and Yellow Onions are expected to be available through March 2017
• The yellow onion crop is dominated by medium, followed by jumbo, sizes
• Jumbo red onions are most plentiful

Idaho/Oregon

• MFC Red and Yellow Onions will be on the market through late April/early May 2017
• The red and yellow crops are dominated by jumbo stocks
• Supplies from these regions possess solid, globe-like shape, firm texture, and moderately spicy flavor

Utah

• MFC Red and Yellow Onions are anticipated to be available through late March 2017   
• Weather has been excellent during harvests
• Red and yellow onions are dominated by jumbo sizes

Washington

• MFC Red and Yellow Onions will be on the market through late April 2017   
• The red and yellow crops are dominated by jumbo stocks
• Washington supplies possess solid, globe-like shape, firm texture, and moderately spicy flavor
