UPDATE: Mixed Berries

Blueberry prices are elevated; supplies are extremely limited. Growers are transitioning to new growing regions; availability will be sporadic. Expect active mixed berry markets for the next several weeks.
Blackberries
- California is the primary growing region
- The majority of supplies are currently being grown in the Salinas/Watsonville area
- The season is past its peak; quality issues include leaking, red cell, and softness
- Availability is limited; stocks will decrease week after week
- The Mexican season has begun; supplies are ramping up quickly
- Prices are elevated
- Product is available for loading in South Texas with a few stocks being transferred to the East and West Coasts
- New crop quality is good
- Availability is sufficient; supplies are increasing
Blueberries
- The seasons in Michigan and the Pacific Northwest are winding down
- Supplies are extremely tight
- Prices are elevated; demand exceeds supply
- Quality issues such as decay, shriveling, and softness are common at this time of year
- The import season is underway
- Air shipments from South America are sporadically arriving on the East and West Coasts
- Prices are high
- The season is off to a slow start due to cold temperatures in Argentina
- Availability is limited, but will ramp up by mid-October as growers harvest in Chile and Peru also
- Quality is very good
- Limited quantities of Mexican blueberries have begun crossing into the U.S.
- Prices are elevated
- Availability of new crop fruit is extremely limited
- Supplies will ramp up over the next several weeks with promotable volume expected by November
- Quality is good
Raspberries
- California is the primary growing region
- Prices are up
- Volume is low and will further taper off by mid to late-October
- Availability is tight due to strong demand
- Limited supplies of Mexican raspberries have begun crossing into the U.S.
- The market is comparable to California prices
- Supplies are limited as the season gets started
- Quality is good
