Markon First Crop (MFC) Red and Yellow Potatoes are readily available in Idaho and North Dakota. MFC Red and Yellow Potatoes will be on the market from Wisconsin in the next few weeks; packer label is currently being shipped.

• Ample supplies of red potatoes are available
  • Quality is excellent in both growing areas  
  • Stocks are round, or slightly oblong, with smooth, thin red skin and white flesh
  • Size is dominated by B potatoes (the typical profile)
• Yellow potato volume is average
  • Quality is very good in both growing areas  
  • Potatoes exhibit golden skin and yellow to golden flesh; shape is round or oblong
  • B size dominates the crop; yellow potatoes typically yield a wide range of sizes, from marble to larger premium  
• Colored potato size specifications include:
  • Premium: 2 ½” (min) to 3 ½” (max) diameter
  • A size: 1 7/8” (min) with 40% or more of potatoes 2 ½” in diameter
  • B size: 1 ½” (min) to 2 ¼” (max) diameter
  • C size: Less than 1 ½” in diameter
