UPDATE: Limes
February 22, 2016
Lime prices will be elevated for the next three to four weeks when spring harvesting begins in late March. Production in Veracruz, Mexico has been declining over the last several weeks which is typical during this time of year. Supplies will remain sufficient, but expect high prices, especially for small-size fruit.
- Demand will strengthen as spring holidays approach, further pushing up prices
- Quality is excellent, but as supplies diminish, fruit will require more sorting for issues such as discoloration and scarring
