Markon First Crop (MFC) and Markon Essentials (ESS) Limes are available. Prices are low and supplies are ample. It’s great time to promote MFC and ESS Limes in 175-count and smaller sizes. Expect ample supplies through August.

• Yields are high in Mexico; shipments into the U.S. are above normal
• 110- and 150-count sizes remain fairly limited and command higher prices; 175-count and smaller markets are much lower
• Yellowing is a concern in some lots
  • Blanching (caused by lack of sunlight to the fruit) is cosmetic and does not affect shelf-life or juice content
  • Yellowing (caused by age) is a conditional defect that progresses with time and causes premature breakdown and decay
• Prices for large fruit are expected to ease a bit more before leveling; expect plenty of availability for the next three months
