UPDATE: Limes

January 08, 2016

Lime prices will be higher next week due to less supplies and stronger demand. The market will remain elevated until new spring production begins in April.

  • Production from Mexico typically decreases during the winter growing season (November through April)
  • Increased holiday demand will push up prices
  • Sufficient supplies are forecast; supplies won’t be as short as in past years
  • Recent weather has been ideal in the growing region of Veracruz, but any cold weather and rain will affect production in March and April
