UPDATE: Limes
Consecutive days of rain in the main growing region of Veracruz, Mexico have pushed up lime prices. Decreased production accompanied by high prices are typical during the winter growing season (November through April). Expect elevated prices until the spring harvest starts in April.
• Even though prices will climb, Markon expects orders to be covered in full
• Growers will curtail harvesting to allow fruit to dry
• Limes will be repacked for best quality, but occasional discoloration and stem decay may persist
• Mexico is the primary year-round source for limes in Canada and the United States
