UPDATE: Lime Drought

September 04, 2019

Prices are higher. Isolated rains in parts of Veracruz, Mexico from Tropical Storm Fernand will aid some relief in the months to come. However, demand will continue to exceed supply on 110- through 200-count sizes through early October.

  • Crossings were up this weekend; however, most shippers loaded up on supplies in preparation for the rain (primarily small sizes)
  • Rain is forecast through next week in the primary growing region of Veracruz, Mexico
  • Supplies will remain very tight due to wet weather, muddy fields, and delayed harvests
  • 110- through 200-count will remain extremely tight; supplies continue to favor 230 and 250 count sizes
  • Expect elevated prices to persist through early October
