August 29, 2019

Prices continue to climb. Demand exceeds supply.

  • Yields remain down in Mexico due to lack of rain in the primary growing regions of Veracruz and Tabasco
  • Crossings into the U.S. are lower this week than last week
  • Demand exceeds supply for 110- through 200-count sizes; the crop is dominated by 230- through 250-count fruit
  • Limes are exhibiting more yellowing than normal with occasional breakdown and decay issues; order for quick turns
  • Prices are expected to remain high with extremely limited supplies through late September or until Mexico gets more rain
