The Arizona/California desert region has experienced 11 days of lower-than-normal temperatures. This trend of freezing weather is expected to continue through this week, limiting lettuce and leaf supplies. Markon anticipates rising prices through this week, but expects markets to stabilize next week as normal temperatures return.  

• Markon First Crop Premium Green Leaf, Iceberg, and Romaine are available in Yuma, Arizona; Markon Best Available is being substituted when needed
• The Arizona/California desert season will wrap up in approximately six weeks
• Expect to see more market activity in mid-March, as growers make the transition north to Huron, California (the San Joaquin Valley region) followed by the Salinas Valley
