Cooler-than-normal weather in the Arizona/California desert region continues to limit harvesting, increasing lettuce and leafy green prices. Once these low temperatures pass over the weekend, markets are expected to stabilize as early as next week.  

• Markon First Crop Premium Green Leaf, Iceberg, and Romaine are available in Yuma, Arizona; Markon Best Available is being substituted when needed
• The Arizona/California desert season will wrap up in approximately seven weeks
• Expect to see more market activity in early to mid-March, when more growers make the transition north to Huron, California (the San Joaquin Valley region) followed by the Salinas Valley
