Transportation costs have skyrocketed. Prices are very high; many rates have more than doubled. New policies and regulations, coupled with bad weather, have led to fewer trucks on the road for the start of the new year.

• Demand for trucks across the country is extremely high
  • Severe weather on the East Coast has delayed shipments
• Federally enforced electronic logging devices (ELD) are putting a strain on logistic companies and overall travel times
• Major production regions such as Nogales, Arizona, Yuma, Arizona, and McAllen, Texas are seeing rates more than double
• Less-Than-Truckload (LTL) shipments out of these areas are extremely difficult to come by compared to full truckload volume
• Many shippers are increasing consolidation and delivery fees this week until further notice to account for the rise in cost
• Expect rates to remain elevated until availability for trucks improves
