Markon First Crop (MFC) Idaho Burbank Potatoes are available. New crop Norkotahs will be available in early to mid-August.

Storage Crop

• The Burbank variety will be shipped until new crop, field-run Norkotahs become available early to mid-August 
• 40- through 80-count stocks will require more lead-time to produce
  • Expect active pricing
  • Placing orders in advance is recommended to minimize loading delays
• 90- through 120-count potatoes dominate supplies; markets will remain steady
• Expect stable number two pricing and availability

Storage Crop Quality

• Low temperatures during the October 2019 harvests have affected the integrity of storage crop Burbanks
  • The most prevalent defect appearing after arrival is soft rot
  • Sheds will need to run more raw product to pack the same number of cartons, reducing already limited supplies
• Pressure bruising and hollow heart are nearly nonexistent
