Markon First Crop Idaho Burbank Potatoes will be available through August 9. New crop, field-run Norkotah potatoes will enter the market on August 7.

Storage Crop

• Burbank quality is very good; 40- to 70-count and No. 2 grade stocks are limited
• Several sheds will send their last shipments this week, putting a strain on the already limited supply
• Expect an active market and tight stocks as the season ends

New Crop Norkotahs and Burbanks

• Late season frosts have slowed the maturity of this year’s Idaho potato crop
• Size profile closely resembling last year’s, dominated by 80- to 100-count potatoes
• New crop Norkotah harvesting and packing will begin in a limited manner on August 7; most Idaho sheds will fully transition to new crop Norkotahs the week of August 12
• New crop Burbank production will start in late September/early October
