Markon First Crop (MFC) Norkotah Potatoes are readily available in Idaho. Growers have started harvesting new crop Burbanks. A limited supply of fresh-run packer label Burbanks will be available October 2 through October 14.

New Crop Norkotahs

• Norkotah quality is good; minor skinning, excess moisture, and cooler mold may be observed in fresh-run potatoes 
• The majority of the Norkotah harvest is being placed in storage cellars for the upcoming season
• Norkotahs that have gone through the sweat process will be available in early to mid-October
• Last week’s rain delayed production a bit, but the market held steady and will continue to inch down this week

New Crop Burbanks

• New crop Burbank harvesting has begun
• Fresh-run packer label supplies will be on the market while production takes place (October 2 through October 14)
• Once harvesting is complete, MFC Burbank Potatoes will be cellared in order to go through the sweat process, then will be available in early November
