Markon First Crop (MFC) Idaho Norkotah Potatoes are available. New crop Norkotah potato harvesting is underway; supplies are increasing daily. Prices will continue to decline over the next three to four weeks.

New Crop Potatoes

• Norkotah quality is good; minor skinning and excess moisture may be observed in fresh-run potatoes 
• Some sheds are beginning to put potatoes in storage cellars; Norkotahs that have gone through the sweat process will be available in late September/early October
• Many growers are sending potatoes directly to packing sheds, flooding the market with fresh-run supplies
• Prices are falling; Markon has adjusted pricing accordingly for orders loading this week and into the weekend 
• Markon recommends ordering for quick turns in order to avoid being caught with high-priced inventory in member DCs
• Fresh-run new crop Burbank production will begin in late September/early October
