Markon First Crop (MFC) Lunch Bunch Grapes are not available; packer label is being substituted. The Chilean season has ended. Harvesting is in full swing in Mexico as well as Coachella, California. Production in Mexico’s current growing region of Hermosillo will end by the middle of next week, then transition to Caborca where crews will harvest through June 18. The California San Joaquin Valley growing season for green and red seedless bag grapes is expected to start the week of June 22. Expect lighter supplies during transition between Mexico and California which may push pricing upward for red and green seedless bag grapes for a few weeks until supplies increase. Overall quality is very good.

Lunch Bunch Grapes

• MFC Lunch Bunch Grapes (in 5- and 21-pound bags) are not available; packer label is being substituted
• New crop Mexican red seedless Flame supplies are being shipped
• Sugar levels range from 17 to 19 brix
• Quality is very good: flavor is sweet and texture is crunchy
• Prices are slightly higher this week due to the transition, but will remain stable for the next four to six weeks
• The new crop San Joaquin Valley Lunch Bunch harvest will start in mid-July
• New crop MFC California Lunch Bunch Grapes will start shipping in 21-pound bags the week of July 20

Green Seedless Grapes

• The green seedless Perlette season is winding down
• New crop Mexican Sugraone supplies will ship the week of June 8
• Color is bright green
• Berry size is large
• Shape is elongated
• Texture is crunchy
• Flavor is sweet
• Sugar levels range from 17 to 19 Brix
• Prices are expected to rise next week as growers transition to new varieties and larger berries
• New crop domestic green seedless grapes are on the market
• Domestic green seedless are commanding higher prices due to lower volume
• Berry size is large
• Flavor is sweet
• Sugar levels range from 17 to 19 Brix
• Overall quality is very good in both areas
  

Red Seedless Grapes

• Mexican red seedless Flame grapes are on the market
• Quality is very good
• Flavor is sweet
• Texture is crunchy
• Sugar levels range from 17 to 19 Brix
• Harvesting will continue through June 18, then growers will transition into new crop California fruit
• Prices remain stable, but could climb during the transition from Mexico to California
