UPDATE: FREEZING TEMPERATURES IN MEXICO
November 14, 2018
Freezing temperatures in key growing regions of Mexico will limit broccoli, lettuce, and tomato supplies in the upcoming weeks. Expect rising prices.
-
Freezing temperatures cause bloom drop on tomato plants; supplies will be limited into December
- Tighter supplies are expected for the next two to three weeks
- California production has ended
- The Florida season is getting a slow start
- Although broccoli and lettuce supplies only supplement U.S. production, lower volume will contribute to overall tight stocks and higher-than-normal prices
