UPDATE: Desert Weather & Harvesting Conditions

The Arizona/California desert growing region received approximately .20” to an inch of rainfall last night and an additional .20” to .40” could be recorded today.
- In anticipation of the rain, growers packed ahead leading into the Thanksgiving holiday
- Muddy field conditions will cause harvesting and loading delays; some suppliers have cancelled today’s production altogether
- Temperatures will be much lower through the weekend; lettuce ice is forecast for Saturday, November 30 and Sunday, December 1
- Markon inspectors will be monitoring desert row crop items for any rain or ice-related issues
