UPDATE: Cooler Weather on California's North Central Coast

February 19, 2018

California’s Central Coast is expected to experience lower-than-normal temperatures (mid-20s to mid-30s) through this week. Growers on the Central Coast (Salinas and Santa Maria) are already well into their plantings for the upcoming 2018 season. While cooler weather conditions this time of the year can slow plant growth and postpone harvests, Markon does not foresee any significant delays. Harvesting is on schedule to begin in late March or early April.

Warming temperatures will be slow to arrive later this week. Much-needed rainfall is forecast for early next week, with the extended forecast through March indicating a wet weather pattern for the month.
