UPDATE: CHILEAN GRAPES

February 02, 2021

Heavy rains hit parts of Chile last week with some areas receiving as much as 2” to 5” of rain in a 24 hour period. Warm weather followed, causing many grapes to split. Growers are currently assessing the total damage. Tighter supplies and rising markets could hit the U.S. as early as late February.

  • Chilean fruit will be on the market through May
  • Mexico starts shipping in late April/early May
  • Potential quality concerns include: split skins and decay
