High heat (ranging from 107º to 112º) is forecast Thursday, June 17 through Saturday, June 19 in California’s San Joaquin Valley; several commodities will be impacted.

Excessive temperatures above 105 degrees will lead to reduced harvesting hours and quality concerns. Problems that may develop include softness, shriveling, sunburn, reduced sugar levels, and shortened shelf-life in the following crops:

• Bell Peppers
• Blueberries
• Eggplant
• Lemons
• Nectarines
• Onions
• Oranges
• Peaches
• Plums
• Potatoes
• Tomatoes
