UPDATE: CENTRAL VALLEY HEAT

August 13, 2020

Excessive heat in California’s San Joaquin Valley from Thursday, August 13 through Monday, August 17 will impact multiple commodities. High temperatures (ranging from 104º to 108º) will affect harvesting hours and may cause softness, reduced sugar, shrivel, and sunburn in the below crops:

  • Bell Peppers
  • Cantaloupe
  • Grapes
  • Honeydew
  • Oranges

Markon recommends ordering for quick turns and maintaining the cold chain to maximize quality and shelf-life.
