The Brussels sprouts market continues to rise due to limited supplies.

• Mexico’s Baja region, Central Mexico, and Oxnard, California are the current primary growing areas
  • The Santa Maria season has started, though initial size profile is small
  • Salinas Valley production is scheduled to begin in late June/early July

Quality

• Expect poor quality in Central Mexico; elevated temperatures are causing discoloration and increasing insect pressure  
• Growing conditions in Baja and Oxnard remain ideal; quality is very good
• Markon orders are being filled with product from Baja and Oxnard for best quality
• Expect prices to remain elevated over the next two to three weeks when the Santa Maria size profile increases and the Salinas Valley harvest begins
