UPDATE: BROCCOLI AND CAULIFLOWER

Prices are climbing in Arizona/California desert region; supplies are fairly limited, especially cauliflower.
Broccoli

Supplies are tightening in the Arizona/California desert region
- Growers are starting the seasonal transition north to the Salinas Valley
- Markets will rise as demand continues to strengthen and supplies further tighten
- Crossings from Mexico into McAllen, Texas are stable; pricing is expected to hold steady for the next two to three weeks
- Production is slowly ramping up in the Salinas Valley and will be in full swing by late March
- Expect this trend to continue until the seasonal transition is complete in late March/early April
Cauliflower
- Markon Essentials Cauliflower available
- Recent cold weather has slowed growth in the Arizona/California desert growing region, lowering yields
- Salinas production will begin in mid-March; the Arizona/California desert season will wind down in late March
- Expect tight stocks and elevated markets over the next two weeks
- Ready-Set-Serve Cauliflower is currently triggered to Tier One price levels
