UPDATE: BELL PEPPERS

Green bell peppers are transitioning to northern growing regions in Mexico and Florida; supplies are adequate. Red and yellow bell peppers are ample.
Green Bells
- Markon First Crop (MFC) and Markon Essentials (ESS) Green Bell Peppers are readily available

The Mexican growing region of Sinaloa will be harvested through mid-April
- Production is starting in Obregon this week
- The Hermosillo season will begin in early April
- Quality is very good: all sizes are available
- Expect markets to remain steady through this week
- Florida peppers are transitioning to the central areas of the state next week; large sizes are tight

The California growing season is scheduled to start April 1 in the Coachella Valley
- The bulk of the crop will consist of jumbo, extra-large, and large sizes at the start of the season
- Medium peppers will be difficult to source
- Very good quality is forecast
Red and Yellow Bells
- MFC and ESS Red Bell Peppers are readily available

Mexico is the primary growing region; supplies are abundant
- The Sinaloa growing region will be harvested through early May
- Quality is good: all sizes are available
- Florida has minimal inventory and is not a primary growing region at this time
- California’s Coachella crop is expected to start in early May
- Peppers are currently the same size as green bells; however, they need additional time to reach color specifications
