Green bell pepper prices are climbing; demand is strong, while supplies are tightening. Red and yellow bell pepper stocks are ample. Overall quality is excellent.

Green Bells

• Markon First Crop (MFC) and Markon Essentials (ESS) Green Bell Peppers are readily available
• Inventories are adequate in Sinaloa, Mexico; expect growers to make the spring transition to the northern growing region of Sonora in two to three weeks
  • Due to lower prices, many growers kept peppers on plants longer, causing them to ripen and turn red
  • Other growers have not harvested more mature fields that were not making a profit or have kept these stocks for the Mexican market
• Florida pepper production has been consistent
• The California season will begin in April
• Overall demand is strong; prices are rising

Red and Yellow Bells

• MFC and ESS Red Bell Peppers are readily available
• Mexico is the primary growing region
  • Warm, sunny weather has been consistent through the late winter season
  • Supplies are sufficient; yields are high
  • Quality is very good
  • Overall prices are low
• Florida produces a limited quantity of colored peppers
• The California season will begin in May
