UPDATE: BELL PEPPERS

The green bell pepper market is easing; supplies are becoming more plentiful. Red and yellow bell pepper prices remain elevated; volume is low. Cool weather has delayed ripening in Mexico.
Green Bells
- Markon First Crop (MFC) and Markon Essentials (ESS) Green Bell Peppers are readily available

The Sinaloa, Mexico season is in full swing
- Green supplies have not been affected by recent cool, overcast weather
- Warm, sunny weather is expected over the next two weeks
- Florida stocks are adequate
- Expect lower prices in February
Red and Yellow Bells
- MFC and ESS Red Bell Peppers are limited; packer label is being substituted as needed

Mexico is the primary growing region; yields are below normal
- Production is being hindered by cold, cloudy weather in late December/early January
- Lack of sunlight has slowed the ripening process
- Stocks are extremely limited in Mexico and Florida
- Prices are high; expect supplies to slowly increase with the warm, sunny weather that’s forecast
