Sufficient storage supplies of Markon First Crop (MFC) Granny Smith, Fuji, and Red Delicious Apples continue to be available in Washington. The MFC Gala Apple season is beginning to wind down; supplies are limited. Remaining MFC Golden Delicious Apple stocks are effectively depleted.   

• A supply gap of MFC Golden Delicious Apples will transpire over the next three to four weeks 
  • Ginger Gold, a summer yellow variety, will become available next week in limited quantities
    • This variety maybe a substitution option for Golden Delicious, depending on demand and supply 
    • Ginger Golds will be on the market August through late October
    • Flavor is a bit sharper than Golden Delicious, but still sweet for an early variety 
• MFC Gala Apple orders will require size and grade substitutions until new crop harvesting begins
